AIUB HR CARNIVAL

With the help and support of AIUB Management, AIUB Society for Human Resource (HR) organized the first ever HR Carnival in AIUB from March 20 to 22, 2011. Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna opened the carnival on the first day at campus 1. The opening ceremony was also attended by Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Director of BBA Dr. Ehsanul Huda, Head of HR Ms. Farheen Hassan and other faculty members. After the opening ceremony a colorful rally was organized participated by AIUB students. A seminar on effective entrepreneurship was conducted by Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmed, Chairman of ENVOY, Group Chairman of Sheltech Private Ltd, and Secretary- General of Bangladesh Olympic as a part of this HR Carnival on the very first day. Two competitions: one on AIUB Policy Makers 2011 and another on AIUB Mastermind were organized as part of the carnival. AIUB Policy Makers 2011 was a 3-day long competition focusing on the current non-political topics of the country like development of infrastructure, anti-corruption strategy, technological advancement, long term HR policy designs, etc. Another three round competition called AIUB Mastermind was held on the second day of the carnival. The objective of AIUB Master Mind was to seek multi-talented personnel who have knowledge and information on various aspects and fields. There was also an interesting competition on movies specifically based on ‘Gulliver Travels ‘and ‘The A Team’. The idea of this competition was to understand the HR aspects properly and to relate the realistic approaches from the scenarios. The quizzes were designed to measure the students’ concentration level and conceptual approaches to the HR fields. A very effective workshop on “INTERVIEW TECHNICS” was conducted by Mr. Sabbir Ahmed, Former Regional Head For Asia Pacific, Motorola Inc. on the second day.
There was a cultural program on the Second day of the carnival that included a performance of the renowned stand-up comedian of the country Mr. Naveed Mahbub who is also the CEO of IBM, Bangladesh. On the closing ceremony of the carnival, Honorable Spanish Ambassador Arturo Perez Martnez was present as the Special Guests along with Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna. Honorable Spanish Ambassador gave away the prizes to the winners of the different competitions and some special awards to the active members of AIUB SOCIETY 4 HR.
