AIUB Girls Programming Contest - Spring 2016-2017

American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB) always tries to empower female students in technology and sciences. To increase the interest of programming among the female students a girls programming contest was arranged in AIUB campus recently. The program was organized by AIUB Computer Club (ACC). The Girls Programming Contest was held on 4 April 2017 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in CL-5, 6 and 7. 95 participants took part in the competition. Senior members of AIUB Competitive Programmers’ Community (ACPC) judged the contestants. Ms. Maria Kibtia became the Champion solving five problems. 1st Runner Up was Archa Amrita Roy and 2nd Runner Up was Thasina Tabashum. There was a prize giving ceremony in AIUB Auditorium afterwards. In the prize giving ceremony Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain, Vice President, Academics and Dean, FSIT, Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Director, FSIT, Dr. Dip Nandi, Head (Undergraduate), FSIT, Dr. Tabin Hasan, Head (Graduate), FSIT, Mr. Abhijit Bhowmik, Sr. Asst. Professor & Special Assistant (OSA), Mr. Sharfuddin Mahmood, Asst. Professor & Special Assistant (OSA), Advisor of ACC Md. Saef Ullah Miah and other Faculty Members of FSIT, AIUB were present. Guests talked about the importance of programming contest for girls and gave away prizes and certificates among the winners and participants. Guests also recognized the efforts of ACC in organizing such a successful program.
