"AIUB FUTURE MARKET PLANNERS 2012"

For the second time in AIUB, the Department of Marketing organized a competitive event based on new product idea generation and development of marketing strategies entitled “AIUB Future Market Planners 2012” on November 29, 2012 (Thursday). The objective of the event was to improve the analytical abilities of the students and to offer an opportunity where they can exercise their marketing knowledge by participating in different creative tasks.   The program was inaugurated at 10:00 am by Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury, Associate Dean, Faculty of Business Administration in the ground floor of Campus 5. Under the direct initiatives and co-ordination of Mr. Zobair Shibli, Head, Department of Marketing, Mr. Stanley Rodrick and Mr. Hamidul Islam, Faculties of the Department; more than 300 students from 8 sections of Marketing Management course participated in the event. The event was jointly organized by all the course instructors of Marketing Management; Mr. Hamidul Islam, Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Mr. AKM Kamrul Haque, Mr. Redwan Salam and Ms. Nuzhat Nuery. It was supervised and judged by the other faculties from the Department of Marketing; Ms. Mahreen Mamoon, Ms. Syeda Ismoth Iqbal, Ms. Tahsina Khan, Ms. Shahnaz Zarin Haque, Mr. Mahmud Habib Zaman, Mr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury and Mr. Md. Golam Mostafa. It was a daylong session divided into 3 different rounds. The first round was Idea Generation including product category selection, proposing a brand name, designing brand logo and developing the brand/company slogan. Approximately 75-80 groups including 4 members in each groups participated in the round. The second round was Development of Print Advertisement, where selected 22 groups from first round were asked to develop a print advertisement for their respective product. The Third and Final round was Marketing Strategies Development where selected 6 groups had to develop and present their total plan regarding marketing strategies and tactics to commercialize their proposed products to the mass market. Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, the honorable Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, visited the event as the chief guest and delivered an inspirational speech to all the final round participants. Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury, Dr. Nisar Ahmed (Director, MBA program), Dr. Md. Dulal Miah (Head, Department of Finance) and Mr. Niaz Majumder (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Arts & Social Science) also visited in different rounds and appreciated the students for their active participation.   On February 12, 2013 (Tuesday), Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva and Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury presented Trophies, Crests and Certificates to the Champions, Runner Ups and the Finalists. The Faculty Mentors of the event were likewise presented a Token of Appreciation for their laudable contribution in making the event successful.
