The 7th Asia Pacific International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM 2026) was successfully held from March 25–27, 2026, at the Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, Thailand. The conference was hosted by Thammasat University and organized by IEOM Society International, bringing together academics, researchers, and industry professionals from across the globe.

The event served as a prominent platform for exchanging innovative ideas, research findings, and practical experiences in the fields of industrial engineering and operations management. The conference featured keynote speeches, plenary sessions, technical paper presentations, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering collaboration and advancing knowledge in emerging technologies and sustainable industrial practices.

From Faculty of Engineering (FE), AIUB, a keynote address was delivered by Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Professor and Director. His talk, titled “Transforming Engineering Education: Innovating Curricula for a Human-Centered Future,” focused on the evolving landscape of engineering education, addressing contemporary challenges while proposing strategic directions for curriculum innovation and industry alignment.

In addition, plenary sessions featured, Dr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Engineering, presented on “Energy Efficient Industrial Bangladesh,” highlighting advancements and opportunities for sustainable industrial development. Other plenary speaker, Dr. Md. Ehasanul Haque, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Industrial & Production Engineering, delivered an insightful presentation on modern industrial engineering practices, emphasizing the significance of electrodeposition in the steel-structured materials industry.

The virtual participation of the esteemed scholars from FE, AIUB significantly contributed to the academic excellence and international collaboration promoted by the conference. Their presentations reflected Bangladesh’s growing contribution to global research in engineering and technology. Faculty members of AIUB sincerely showed their gratitude to Dr. Ahad Ali, Associate Professor and Director of Industrial Engineering, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, USA and CEO, IEOM Society International  and Mr. Aqib Islam, Director of IEOM Bangladesh Operations for their support.

Overall, IEOM 2026 in Bangkok proved to be a highly successful event, strengthening international partnerships and advancing the frontiers of industrial engineering and operations management.
