AIUB Faculty Members and Students attended the International Conference on Physics-2024

The International Conference on Physics-2024, organized by the Bangladesh Physical Society (BPS), took place from May 9 to 11, 2024, at the Atomic Energy Centre in Dhaka. Delegates from around the world attended this prestigious event. Representing the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), eight faculty members and twenty students participated as invited speakers, contributors in research talks, paper presenters, and organizing committee members.

 

Dr. Shovan Kumar Kundu, Assistant Professor of Physics, AIUB played a significant role as a member of both the organizing committee and various sub-committees. His contributions were instrumental in the success of the conference.

 

Prof. Dr. Muhibul Haque Bhuyan from the EEE department and Dr. Humayra Ferdous, Head and Associate Professor of Physics, AIUB attended the conference as invited speakers, and delivered insightful talks. Moreover, faculty members from AIUB who presented their research through oral and poster presentations included Dr. Md. Nurul Kabir Bhuiyan, Senior Assistant Professor of Physics; Dr. Mahjabin Taskin, Assistant Professor of Physics; Dr. Md. Sarwar Hossain, Assistant Professor of Physics; Ms. Rutaba Jania, Assistant Professor of Physics; and Md. Mortuza Ahmed, Associate Professor of Mathematics.

 

AIUB’s student contingent, comprising Afia Farzana, Imtiaz Ahmed, Mst. Maksuda Akter Sraboni, Nusaibah Tasnim, Tarifuzzaman Riyad, Priom Barua, Kazi Fattah Afnan, Md. Moynul Islam, Most. Nadia Tamanna, Mian Mohammad Rassel, Aonyendo Paul Neteish, Mst. Nadiya Noor, Ishrakul Tahmid, K. M. Tahsin Kabir, Barno Biswas, Shamvi Md. Abdullah, Md. Ashifur Rashid Fahim, Maliha Mostakim Mithe, and Frank Heaven Mondol, delivered impressive poster presentations, showcasing their research skills and contributions.

 

Among the participating institutions, AIUB stood out as one of the leading contributors in terms of paper presentations. Notably, Ms. Rutaba Jania received the award for Best Oral Presentation in the Nanomaterials-II session. She is also a UGC PhD research fellow. Furthermore, Dr. Md. Sarwar Hossain was recognized as the Best Poster Presentation as a co-author of a poster presentation.

 

AIUB’s successful participation at the International Conference on Physics-2024 highlights the university’s commitment to advancing scientific research and fostering academic excellence.
