“Give me an educated mother, I shall promise you the birth of a civilized, educated nation”- Napoleon quotes. With this vision, on December 19, 2017 Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and Computer Engineering (CoE) of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized an outreach program in College section of Motijheel Ideal School & College, with the development of their social responsibility. The vision of the program was to empower women with higher education, to encourage female students to study further after H.S.C level. Again, active participation of female students in Engineering education is very low in our country, as most of them fear that engineering is not suitable for them. To inspire them to study engineering, Ms. Sharmin Jahan, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE & CoE; Alumni, Motijheel Ideal School & College, shared her experience of academic life in Engineering study and her career as an Engineer. She showed the students a pathway of success by accepting engineering education and motivated them for engineering education. The female students were enthusiastic to have alumni like her among them. Then, Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun Student, Department of EEE, AIUB exhibited his project to the students to let them know how they can make an impact on the society by implementing their engineering knowledge, which drew their attention quite positively. Moreover, a quiz contest was conducted by Ms. Tahia Fahrin Karim Assistant Professor, Department of EEE & CoE to make the program a joyful one. The winners of the quiz contest were awarded prizes. At the end, a closing speech was given by Dr. Shahan Ara Begum Principal, Motijheel Ideal School & College. The whole program was managed by Mr. Mezanur Rahman Monjur Lecturer, Department of EEE & CoE and Mr. Md. Arif Abdulla Samy Assistant Professor, Department of EEE & CoE. Thanks to Ms. Rezina Jesmeen, Ms. Farzana Bari, Ms. Munira Dilshad and Ms. Razia, Faculty member of Ideal School & College for co-operating to conduct the program successfully.
