The Department of Economics of AIUB successfully organized a two- day long ‘AIUB ECO FEST 2017’ on Sunday 12 March, and Monday, 13 March, 2017, in a festive ambiance with the presence of students of AIUB and eight reputed colleges of Dhaka city.  The event included quiz competition, Bengali debate, public speaking, and poster competition on various topics of local and global economic issues. 

Mr. M.A. Mannan MP, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning, GOB, attended the program as chief guest, and Dr. Ashraf Uddin Chowdhury, president of Bangladesh Economic Association, was the Special Guest at the event. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of AIUB Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, and the distinguished guests distributed the prizes among the winners of the events. The winners were Notre Dame College (Champion and Runner up in Public Speaking), Dhaka College (Champion Team in Debate), Dhaka Residential Model School and College (Runner Up Team in Debate), Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (Champion Team in Quiz Competition), Imperial College (Runner up team in Quiz Competition). Moreover, students of BBA and Economics of AIUB took part in Poster and Quiz competition.

The program ended with the Closing Remarks and Vote of Thanks from the Honorable Vice Chancellor followed by a colorful cultural function performed by the department of Economics. The cultural program was mentored by Mr. Rezwanul Haque, Lecturer, Department of Economics.  All the faculty members of department of Economics were present in the Program.
