27th September is celebrated as the World Tourism Day. On 29-30th September and 1st October,
Asian Tourism Fair (ATF-DHAKA) 2011 was organized by the Parjatan Bichitra in collaboration with Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) and the National Tourism Organization at the
Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC). American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) associated with the fair as the knowledge partner. As part of the celebration, performers of participating countries performed on a regular throughout the fair representing their country, culture and the tourism sector. On the last day, on behalf of Bangladesh,
AIUB Drama Club (ADC) performed a short drama named “Baro mash-e tero parbon”, directed by Md. Ehsanul Islam and Natasha Kamal. The drama is a representation of all significant annual events of the nation and its culture starting from January till December, like “Shakhrain”, ‘International Mother Language Day’, ‘Independence Day’, ‘Pohela baishakh’, ‘Tribal Festivals’ ‘Durga Puja’, ‘Nobanno’, ‘Sheet er pitha-puli and puthi path’ and ‘Victory Day’. The drama show was highly appreciated by the audience. As a response, representatives of numerous organizations who were present in the audience requested ADC to perform the same drama in several other places in near future. Foreign delegates were also very interested to know more about the drama and its script.
