They say we should ‘lead by example’. And sometimes, it’s from those examples that we also learn. Every passion has its own set of success stories, those who leave their mark on the platform. In case of the art of theatrics, that’s literally and figuratively.”Prachyanat”, one of the leading theatre groups in Bangladesh, has long been an icon for amateur actors pursuing their talents, showcasing their own expression of stories through their incredible performances and plays.
This Summer, as a part of the initiative from the university management, the AIUB Drama Club [ADC], persevered in their efforts of organizing a 2-day long workshop, on the 4th and 6th of June 2015, facilitated by members of ‘Prachyanat’. The workshop covered various segments of professional theatre art like basic acting skills, script writing, improvisation, voice projection, observation & imagination, physicals and theatre games & sounds. The sessions were conducted by the Chief Secretary of Prachyanat, Mr. Kazi Toufikul Islam (Emon), the Secretary, Mr. Saiful Islam Jarnal, one of the music composer, Mr. Neel Kamrul, and one of the actors, Mr. Mitul Rahman.
At the end of the program, on behalf of all the members as well as the Office of Student Affairs [OSA], the president of ADC, Maksudur Rahman Rocky, thanked the guests for their valued time and guidance, and presented them with a token of appreciation. The workshop undoubtedly offered great insight and guidance for the participants and their ‘passion for creation’.
