Team AIUB scripted a remarkable chapter in university football by winning the Ispahani–Prothom Alo Inter-University Football Tournament 2025, a triumph built on discipline, resilience, and belief.

The journey began with a confident victory against Daffodil International University, setting the tone for what was to come. In the quarter-final, Team AIUB delivered a commanding performance, defeating Rajshahi University 2 – 0 and asserting their intent with both composure and control.

The semi-final, hosted at the National Stadium, Dhaka, tested character more than skill. After a fiercely contested encounter against Fareast University, the match was decided in a tense tie-breaker, where Team AIUB held their nerve to win 2(6) – 2(5), showcasing exceptional mental strength under pressure.

The final, once again at the iconic National Stadium, Dhaka, was the ultimate test. Against Gono University, the match remained goalless through regulation time, pushing the contest to another dramatic tie-breaker. With calm execution and unwavering focus, Team AIUB secured a 0(7) – 0(6) victory to lift the championship trophy.

This achievement reflects more than on-field success. Team AIUB extends sincere gratitude to the AIUB managementfor their continuous support and guidance throughout the tournament. Heartfelt thanks also go to all the supporters, whose encouragement both on and off the field inspired the team at every step of this memorable journey.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the team handed over the Champion trophy to Ms. Nadia Anwar, Chairman and Founder Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB. She congratulated the team on their exceptional performance and lauded their dedication, teamwork, and resilience throughout the tournament. She expressed her pride in their achievements, highlighting the university’s commitment to excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities.
