AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a webinar titled “Supply Chain as a Career Field for Engineers” on October 06, 2021. The program began at 7 PM with around 100 participants attending via the online platform Zoom. The purpose of this webinar was to familiarize the students with supply chain management and logistics strategy.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ACES) commenced the webinar by acknowledging the impact of the digital revolution on the supply chain industry. He went on to suggest that in order to be a successful supply chain manager, students must be technologically savvy. He encouraged students to develop their knowledge in machine learning and artificial intelligence in order to expand their opportunities in supply chain management. Mr. Rifat I Rahim (Deputy Manager - SnOP Planning Supply Chain Department, Marico Bangladesh Ltd.) began his speech by appreciating everyone for inviting him to share his expertise as an engineer in the field of Supply Chain Management. Afterwards he introduced sales and operation procedure of Marico Bangladesh Ltd. He demonstrated the manufacturing and distribution of different products. He exhibited the steps and different functions of the supply chain. He emphasized the importance of choosing supply chain management as a career path for engineers. Finally, a short Q&A session was held where the speaker answered the queries of the participants. Following that Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ACES) thanked our honorable speaker for his well explained and thought-provoking remarks. He advised students to evaluate their strengths, skill, opportunities, and risks in order to identify the right career route for the future. After that, he presented the virtual crest of appreciation to our honorable speaker.
