On 29^th December 2015, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a seminar on "Future Internet including 5G and Beyond " at Room No 266, Faculty of Engineering Building, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The guest speaker was Dr. Rahmatullah Khondoker (Lecturer, Department of Computer Science, TU Kaiserslautern & Researcher, Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology, Germany). The prime motive of the seminar was to acknowledge and introduce the participants to the latest project of modern technology, 5G and details of it.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the inauguration speech, he addressed the participants to know the details of the mechanism of 5G internet facilities. Then came the turn of the guest speaker where he commenced his speech by displaying the slides on earlier versions of internet technology (i.e. 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G) the basic foundations of networking. Then he came with the evolution of network system and the advancements that it brought to human nature. He mentioned the relevant theoretical backgrounds needed to learn network system which inspired the students to some extent. He not only mentioned the benefits of modern days networking but also its negative role to mankind such as “Text Neck Syndrome” which is caused because people are continuously busy with their smart devices that they keep their heads always down to the display. Then he showed the aim of this upcoming 5G technology. This would bring the whole working process of our daily lives under one network coverage; that means each and every device, vehicles, machineries and even people would be interconnected to each other which would give working life more pace and updates. At the very end of his speech he asked students to get involved with these kinds of projects and enhance their skills and later he answered to several queries of the students. He acclaimed ACES for this initiative and motivated to hold more of these.

Sajid Hossain (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Mr. Shahriar Hasan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Ms. Tajbia Karim (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB, & Motivator, ACES) , Mr. Kazi Ahmed Asif Fuad (Teaching Assistant, Department of EEE, AIUB) and Mr. Kawshik Shikder (Teaching Assistant, Department of EEE, AIUB) graced the seminar with their presence.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Associate Professor and Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) shared a few words about the importance of this upcoming technologies and handed over the crest & gift voucher to the honorable guest speaker.Then the effective seminar came to an end with a vote of thanks to the speaker and AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES).
