AIUB Champions League Football Tournament 2013
The Final Match of AIUB Champions League Football Tournament 2013 was held at the Banani Club Ground on July 9, 2013. In the final match the Chelsea (FASS) team defeated the PSG (MBA) team by 4-1 and became the Champion. Shehab of the Champion team became the best player of the tournament while Adib (MBA) was the highest scorer of the tournament scoring 6 goals and Abdul Kadir from the Champion team was adjudged the man of the match in the final.
Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean (Faculty of Business Administration), Prof. Dr. A B M Siddique Hossain, Dean (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury, Associate Dean (Faculty of Business Administration), Abdul Kader Nazmul, Director (BBA Program and Coordinator, Office of Sports), were present during the final match and gave prizes, trophies and certificates to the players after the match. AIUB Officials and a large number of students were also present and they enjoyed the final match and the prize distribution ceremony.
In this regard, on June, 30, 2013, AIUB Champions League Opening Ceremony was held in Campus 1. Our honorable Vice President, Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain was present during the opening ceremony of AIUB Champions League 2013 which was followed by a Grand Program at the Campus 1 Auditorium and a rally of the students and players of AIUB Champions League Football Tournament 2013.
In total 32 teams from different departments (both undergraduate and graduate) and two faculty / officer teams participated in the tournament. The Honorable Vice President, Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tafazzal Hossain inaugurated the tournament at 11.30 AM on July 1, 2013. Among others Dr. Charles Villanueva, Dean (Faculty of Business Administration), Prof. Dr. Siddique Hossain Dean (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean (Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences), Mr. Md. Lutfar Rahman, Director (PR, Legal and Int’l Affairs), Mr. A. K. Nazmul, Director (BBA Program) and Coordinator (Office of Sports) and other officials were also present at the inauguration besides university students. In the opening match Porto (EEE) defeated the Bayern Munich (BBA) team by (1-1) 3-2 in the tie-breaker.
