AIUB Champions League Football Tournament 2012

< table> < table> The Final Match of AIUB Champions League Football Tournament 2012 was held at the Banani Club Ground field on June 7, 2012. In the final match the Manchester City (Faculty/Officer) defeated the Real Madrid (BBA) team by 5-4 and became the Champion. Jahid of the Champion team (Manchester City – Faculty/Officer) became the best player of the tournament while Abdul K. Nazmul (Faculty/Officer Team) was the highest scorers of the tournament scoring 11 goals and Reza of the Real Madrid (BBA) was the Best Goal Keeper. Rasel from the Champion team was adjudged the man of the match in the final.

The Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean (Faculty of Business Administration), BBA Program Director, MBA Program Director, Director (Student Affairs) Mr. Manzur H Khan, Coordinator (Sports) were present during the final match and gave prizes,  trophies and certificates to the players after the match. In the Prize Distribution ceremony Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna handed over the Championship and Runner-up Trophies to the teams. AIUB Officials and a large number of students were also present in the final match and also prize distribution program.
In this regard, on May, 30, 2012, AIUB Champions League launching program was held in Campus 1. Our honorable Vice President, Student Affairs, Mrs. Nadia Anwar launched the AIUB Champions League 2012 at AIUB Campus 1 which was followed by a Grand Program at the Campus 1 Auditorium and a rally of the students and players of AIUB Champions League Football Tournament 2012.

In total 32 teams from different departments (both undergraduate and graduate) and two faculty / officers team are participating in the tournament. The Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna inaugurated the tournament at 11.30 AM on May 31, 2012. Among others Dr. Charles Villanueva, Dean (Faculty of Business Administration), Prof. Dr. Siddique Hossain Dean (Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean (Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences), Mr. Manzur H. Khan, Director (Office of Student Affairs), Mr. A. K. Nazmul Coordinator (Office of Sports) and other Officials were also present at the opening ceremony besides university students.  

In the opening match Real Madrid (BBA) defeated the Shakhtar Donetsk (EEE) team by 5-0. Shovon scored 3 (goals) for the winning team.
