AIUB Celebrates VC Madam’s Birthday in Joyous Merriment

Over the years, ‘AIUB’ and ‘Carmen’ (Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna) have become synonymous among the academic community. It is through relentless dedication and love toward the AIUB community that Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna has established herself as an inspirational figure for the teachers, officers, students and staff members of AIUB. Therefore, it is little wonder that her birthday would meet colorful exuberance from all quarters. Like other avid supporters admirers, the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS) and Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) celebrated her birthday in joyous merriment. After relishing the post-lunch delicious cakes sent by Dr. Lamagna to all teachers and officers in different campuses, the FASS and FBA leaders, i.e. the Dean of both Faculties Dr. Charles C Villanueva, the Associate Dean of both Faculties Dr. Tazul Islam, Head of Finance Department Mr. Nisar Ahmed, Head of Marketing Department Mr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury, Head of Accounting Department Ms. Tahmina Parveen, Head of Management Department Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul, Head of Social Sciences Department Dr. Buddha Dev Biswas and Head of the Department of English Dr. Faheem Hasan Shahed together paid a jubilant “Happy Birthday visit” to sincerely wish VC madam the best of everything in life and good health. And not to talk of the multi-flavored cakes and gorgeous flower bouquets that accompanied. What followed then was a lively “adda” — far beyond all academic and official workload, full of jokes and reminiscence of the sweet events of the yestermonths and yesterdays, and of course, plates of delicacies that madam offered. Particularly noteworthy was the massive cake consumption by the Finance-head and the English-head who had to be stopped by the rest from the potential stomach-collapse they were heading towards! The “adda” was followed by some instant photo sessions where Dr. Charles C Villanueva, Dr. Tazul Islam, Dr. Buddha Dev Biswas, Dr. Faheem Hasan Shahed and Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul are seen with Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna. We hope to be with the VC Madam in the many many more years to come.
