Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better. It is never an accident, but rather the result of relentless efforts, committed perseverance, and the vision to transform obstacles into opportunities. It is that very pursuit of excellence that earned Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan, the Founder Member and current Chairman, Board of Trustees, American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB), the prestigious award of Top 100 Achievements 2021 in the category of Excellence in Science & Education, by the Academic Union, Oxford, UK, an international academic association of over 350 university chancellors, scientists, and researchers who together encourage, enable, and emphasize on academic excellence, innovation, and accessibility in the global community of higher education.

Implemented since 2014, the project assesses educational institutions on the current progress as well as the prospects of its future growth, reflecting on their applied academic performance, national & global social and educational initiatives, international and interregional cooperation, institutional brand value, technological innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and development. The Academic Union organized the Winners’ Presentation of the Register for the award on the 17^th of December 2021, virtually on the Zoom Platform. The award was presented to Dr. Hasan as the Chairman of the AIUB Board of Trustees, whose insights and ideologies shaped the institution and paved the way for its advancement. Together with its academic faculties and administrative officials, and the proactive management of AIUB, Dr. Hasan has constantly worked towards elevating the quality of education, strengthening the infrastructure, and enhancing its services over the past 25 years. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, shared a few words with the distinguished guests and remarkable participants on the occasion, highlighting the challenges and accomplishments of AIUB in their journey to become a versatile and holistic institution for higher education in Bangladesh and beyond.

A single institution from 10 countries was included into the exclusive Register of the Top 100 Achievements 2021: Excellence in Science and Education, with AIUB being the only institution in country to be presented the honorable recognition. The invaluable validation is truly a matter of great pride for the institution, empowering AIUB to strive for continuous improvement in its field even further and sustain its success in the future.
