The British Business Group, Bangladesh arranged a reception in honor of the mayor of West Midlands, UK Mr. Andy Street at the residence of British High Commissioner on Sunday, 13 November 2022. The mayor is on a visit to Bangladesh to explore the possibilities of future collaboration with organization of West Midlands and Bangladesh in various sectors, specifically, manufacturing and service industry, and higher education sectors. Mr. Manzur H Khan, Director, Office of Student Affairs, AIUB attended the reception on behalf of Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB.

Mr. Andy Street highlighted that West Midlands is the second most populous county in England after Greater London with a glorious history of automobile manufacturing industry. Recently West Midlands was the fastest growing region outside London with a strong Bangladeshi community. There are various scopes of collaboration among organizations of Bangladesh and West Midlands.

The reception was attended by representatives from the member organizations of the British Business Group (Bangladesh), universities, service industry, financial institutions British council, Cambridge education board, Pearson education, and many more. On behalf of the British High Commissioner, Mr. Javed Patel, Deputy British High Commissioner co-hosted the event.
