On November 23, 2018 the EdHat International Research Conference on Information Communication Technology (ICT) 2018 was held in the Federation Square, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) was one of the partner universities of this conference along with Buckinghamshire New University, England, Lincoln University College, Malaysia and Uva Wellassa University, Sri Lanka. The conference was organized by IDM Nations Campus Sri Lanka. The theme of the conference was "Research in ICT opens the gate to the modern world” with sub themes in the field of Advances in ICT Research, Information Systems and ICT in Education.
Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna, Vice Chancellor of AIUB was represented by Mr. Manzur H Khan, Director, Student Affairs and Ms. Shama Islam, Assistant Professor, FBA and Special Assistant of VC and OSA for the keynote speech in the opening ceremony. In the keynote presentation, the recent developments and research areas of ICT were highlighted along with the emphasis on minimizing the digital divide. The importance of E-governance leading to E-democracy was also a valuable suggestion of the keynote. A total number of 18 selected articles were presented in the 6 different sessions of the conference along with the keynote of Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna.
