To commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence, the University Grants Commission (UGC) organized two days long International Conference on 4th Industrial Revolution and Beyond (IC4IR 2021) in order to create a platform to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse domains to share cutting-edge research results obtained through the application of artificial intelligence, the internet of things, data analytics, and cloud computing to solve problems in the industrial domain. AIUB was the proud silver sponsor and an active participant of this prestigious conference. The conference took place in hybrid mode on 10 and 11 December 2021. It hosted three distinguished Noble Laureates, seven keynote sessions, two workshops, and over 2000 participants.

AIUB has always fostered academia and industry collaboration whenever an opportunity is presented. AIUB’s commitment towards achieving the goals of SDG reflects on the 602 faculty research publications and 209 university-arranged activities in just last two years. 

In the two-day-long conference, a total of 105 papers were presented written by 437 authors, out of which 12 articles and 49 authors were from AIUB, Prof. and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. A. B. M. Siddique Hossain served as the local advisory committee member and Prof. and Associate Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman served as the track committee member. There were 29 reviewers at the technical review committee from AIUB. Dr. ABM Rahmatullah, Associate Dean in-charge, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Additional Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell, Associate Prof., Head – Dept. of Economics, AIUB delivered his eloquent talk titled, “AIUB’s Evolution towards digital pedagogy for IR4 and beyond” at the Harmony Hall. At the co-event of the conference, Mujib 100 Industrial exhibition, the students of AIUB received recognition for their valuable participation with the Solar Car in the Top 5 Industrial Project category. And lastly, under this event, an MOU was signed with AIUB for Industry-Academia Collaboration.
