AIUB AT AUAP-GASTECH’S CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION SINGAPORE EXPO, 28TH EDITION

As a member of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific [AUAP]. AIUB was invited to participate in the AUAP-Gastech’s Conference & Exhibition, which is in its 28th Edition as the world’s largest gas, energy, and technology event that connects industry professionals on a global platform to address trending issues of evolving technology, natural gas and the LNG supply chain altogether. Held from the 27th – 30th October 2015 at the Singapore EXPO, Singapore, the 3-Day conference & exhibition massed delegates, mentors, and visitors from around the globe, featuring over 100 of the industry’s most prominent speakers and representatives, engaging over major concerns and developments impacting the upstream, midstream, and downstream channels of the global gas, energy, and technology sectors.

The conference was divided into 3 segments of technical, commercial, and special featured streams. Students attended sessions facilitated by renowned icons of the industries like Mr. Shigeru Muraki, the Executive Adviser of Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd., Mr. Cederic Cremers, the Vice President of Commercial & New Business Development (Asia) at Shell Eastern Petroleum Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Paul Sullivan, the Senior Vice President of Global LNG & FLNG at WorleyParsons Group, Ms. Amanda Blesing, the Mentor, Speaker, and Creator of Ambition Revolution, amongst many others. Interactive roundtable discussions and sessions on critical analysis and problem solving were conducted, based on which several presentations were made by the delegates. The event came to an end with a launch ceremony of the next 29th Edition Gastech Conference & Exhibition, to be held in Japan in 2017.

The partnership between AUAP and Gastech enabled hundreds of students to access the various sessions at the conference and experience the exceptional exhibition showcased at the Expo as a part of the Student Program 2015. After a rigorous selection process, a pool of student representatives, from different academic institutions, throughout China, Australia, United Kingdom, Phillipines, Korea, and of course, Bangladesh, amongst many others. And AIUB made it mark in the international platform with Kazi Aniqa Nawar, a promising student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering [EEE] program, who was the only representative from Bangladesh. AIUB is undoubtedly proud of her contribution in the international landscape, not just as a student of AIUB, but as a representative of Bangladesh as well.
