Yet another!!! Recently the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) came together in the spirit of creativity to inaugurate its long awaited professional Advertising Design and Photography Studio with a High Tech Computer Lab for its students. This was yet another instance of AIUB’s commitment to provide quality and excellent computer-based academic programs responsive to the emerging challenges of the time. The ceremony became more than just a simple launching of a Photo Studio and a Computer Lab. In fact, due to the enthusiasm of the students of Advertising and MCMA under the guidance of their zealous teacher Mr. Niaz Majumdar it turned out to be quite an extraordinary Gala Event.
On February 10th, the ceremony kick started at 3 pm with a welcome speech to the honorable guests, teachers, and students. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna and Vice President of Student Affairs Mrs. Nadia Anwar lit a Mangal Pradeep (lamp) to inaugurate the studio, lab and exhibition. The invited guests then visited the studio and the computer lab. An exhibition was organized to showcase the students’ creativity and dedicated efforts. The magical touch of art in design, the creativity of the students and the mesmerizing soft raga music in the background touched everyone present in the ceremony.
The ambience and the accomplishment of both the teachers and students gave the guests as well as the management of AIUB a very pleasant surprise. FASS is a relatively new Faculty of AIUB. As such all its achievements and efforts are inspiring and praiseworthy. The journey of FASS has always been challenging. However, with the help of AIUB management and teachers the students are now ever enthusiastic and ever ready to reap the benefits through the maximization of the opportunities presented to them by the establishment of this Design Studio and Computer Lab. Support and help of this magnitude will surely brighten the future of every student! What more can a student ask for?
