ACES organized workshop on “Fundamentals of Robotics Localization and Manipulation”.

On December 17, 2023, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a workshop titled "Fundamentals of Robotics Localization and Manipulation". The program started at 3:00 PM with 170 participants through Microsoft Teams. The workshop was designed for enthusiasts, students, and professionals keen to explore the elaboration of grid localization, dead reckoning, particle filter algorithms, simulation using Python and various libraries, as well as robot manipulation with TX60 and TS60 robots using Val3 coding.

The honorable instructor of the workshop, Mr. Mir Mohibullah Sazid (Erasmus Scholar, Masters in Intelligent Field Robotics System), covered theoretical concepts like oscillation, simulation, and mapping, as well as simulation. He showcased diverse industrial robot simulations, illustrating various arm movements at different degrees and dimensions. The demonstration utilized the well-known software Stäubli Robotics Suite, a comprehensive PC software environment that simplifies the management of robot systems. Then, a short Q/A session was held for the participants. Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Associate Professor & Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) concluded the webinar by thanking the speaker and presented a virtual crest and certificate to the honorable speaker.

This webinar successfully covered the following goals out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set forth by the UN: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9) and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)
