ACES organized an Industrial tour to Renata Limited

On 12th of November, 2016 AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized an industrial tour at RENATA LIMITED, Rajendrapur Site, Gazipur, Dhaka. The Rajendrapur site of Renata Limited began its operation in 2009, which homes four manufacturing facilities, different warehouses and a self-sufficient power plant. There was a team of 56 students and faculty members.  The team departed from the FE Building at 8:30 a.m. and reached the industry around 11:30 a.m.  On arrival, the members of the management team gave warm welcome to the visiting faculties and students of AIUB.  The students were given a brief of the whole tour by Mr. Mehedi Anwar (Sr. Additional Manager, Renata Ltd.).

After a brief introduction the students were divided into 2 groups. There were two main points of interest, the Manufacturing Sector and the Power Plant Sector. Each group was taken to visit different sections by Mr. Diponkor Dutta Partha (Sr. Officer, Renata Ltd.) and Mr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman (Addition Manager, Renata Ltd.). They described the different portions of the machine which were used to manufacture hormonal medicines, the function of the air hanger units, the chill rotor system and the control system in the BMS room. In the Power Plant Sector, the instructor described, the power stations fire tube, steam engines, generators and alternators which ran on different parameters. There were a few generators which had the capacity of producing 6 MW power in total. After the instructors were done explaining the operations of both the sectors, the students were taken to the canteen where lunch was served.

At the very end the authorities of Renata Limited had a conversation with the students and praised AIUB for taking such an initiative and stimulated to organize more events like this and make the students more informed and familiar with the pragmatic world.   Last but not the least, the authorities and instructors of the tour were given gift hampers as a token of appreciation by our faculty member, Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES). The students and faculty members also received a souvenir from the authority of Renata Ltd. AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) extend its fervent gratitude to the Renata Limited for their support and wonderful hospitality.
