A workshop titled "IMPLEMENTATION OF FUNDAMENTAL CIRCUITS EMPLOYING PSIM TOOLS” was organized by AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES), held on February 16, 2017 at Room No. 264, FE Building, AIUB. The instructor of the workshop was Ms. Sumaiya Umme Hani (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB). The main emphasis of the workshop was on introducing the simulation by PSIM and to apply it on the basic circuit designing. A total of 52 students from EEE and COE department participated in this workshop. Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) commenced the event by giving the welcome speech and he gave a brief idea about the importance of PSIM in modern technology and its practical significance.

Ms. Sumaiya Umme Hani then guided the participants through the workshop. At the very beginning she gave a brief description about the basic tools of PSIM. She detailed about the different applications of PSIM which are used as major educational tools as teaching of Power Electronics and Electrical drive courses. Then she designed and simulated some Analog and Digital circuits using PSIM and compared the simulated data with the theoretical data. Based on a particular integrated circuit, the instructor detailed the students all the technical, electrical and electronic peripherals of PSIM so that students were able to understand the methodology properly. She also tried to give few circuits to the participants to solve by themselves, which helped the participants to realize the simulation tool more explicitly.

 Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the closing speech and explained the importance of learning simulation tools like PSIM to design electronic circuits. Thus he encouraged the young community of future Engineers to get up to date with different modern Engineering software. Mr. Md. Sajid Hossain (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Kazi Asif Ahmed Fuad (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Syed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES), Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES) graced the workshop with their presence. At the end, the participants were presented certificates to mark their wholehearted participation.
