Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ACES) commenced the webinar by highlighting that Bio printing is one of the most popular additive manufacturing processes with a strong potential for the application of bones, orthopedics, tissues, organs and other bio structures. He encouraged the participants that it is a very exciting area of research with a lot of scope for innovation. Dr. Md Ahasan Habib (Assistant Professor, Sustainable Product Design and Architecture/Sciences, Sustainability and Health, Keene State College, USA) started his speech by stating the statistics on how rapidly human organ transplant patients are increasing in USA and worldwide. He demonstrated the distinction between basic 3D printing and 3D bio printing by elaborating the selection of printing material. Later, he exhibited a number of test results on bio printing using the concept of Microbiology, Biochemistry and Nanofiber Technology. Finally, a short Q&A session was held where the speaker answered the queries of the participants. Following that, Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB; Advisor, ACES) thanked the distinguished speaker with a virtual token of appreciation for delivering such a great presentation.
