AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a webinar titled “Compressive Processing Based Methodologies for Direction-of-Arrivals (DoAs) Estimation” on January 19, 2021. The program started at 4:00 pm with the participation of about 70 students using the online platform Google Meet. 

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) inaugurated the webinar by acknowledging Direction-of-Arrivals (DoAs) Estimation as an emerging sector of research and also highlighted the research prospects. He concluded his speech by emphasizing on the amount of algorithm which being used for DoAs Estimation. Afterwards, the honorable speaker, Mohammad Abdul Hannan (Ph.D.; Research Fellow, Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science (DISI), University of Trento; Senior Researcher, ELEDIA Research Center) was invited and he started his speech by thanking everyone for the invitation to conduct the webinar. He introduced ELEDIA Research Centre and explained its research works. Then he discussed the objective of Direction-of-Arrivals (DoAs) Estimation which is to identify the angles from the received voltages. He further mentioned few applications (Wireless Evolution, 5G\next-G communications and modern radar) and operational techniques to realize the Compressive Sensing on DoAs Estimation. He further acknowledged the emerging possibilities of Compressive Processing Based Methodologies for Direction-of-Arrivals (DoAs). He concluded his speech by notifying the participants that ELEDIA Research Centre and University of Trento is open for research opportunities for all international students and research enthusiasts.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain conveyed the closing speech by thanking the speaker for an informative session.
