On 2^nd June 2015, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a seminar on “Introduction to Microcontroller Based System Design” which was presented by Sparta Lab at Room No. 266, Building 2, Faculty of Engineering, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). Objective of this seminar was to give an idea about the microcontroller based system design to the students. Mr. Kamrul Hussain Sunny (Research Assistant, Department of Biomedical Physics and Technology, University of Dhaka & Research Engineer, BiBEAt), Mr. Istiaque Rahaman (Lecturer, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology & Team Lead, IUT Lunabotics Team, NASA Lunabotics Mining Competition, USA) and Mr. Maroof Muhammad Hasan (Alumni, Department of EEE, AIUB & Engineer, Bangla CAT) were the guest speakers.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the starting speech and explained the importance of microcontroller in today’s world. Mr. Istiaque Rahaman started his speech with the introduction of Sparta Lab and its mission. Then he shared how he grew his interest in microcontroller and some of his previous experience with microcontroller based system design. Later he showed, his student life microcontroller based projects and talked about how to proceed in Lunabotics competition. Then Mr. Kamrul Hussain Sunny started his speech with some of his childhood memories. He told how he did engineering at a very small age and found his interest in embedded system. He used to open up the faulty electronic devices and try to find out the faults. He said he took engineering as his passion. He showed his designed ECG machine which was made with biomedical sensors & microcontroller. Then he talked about ‘Sparta Lab’ which they have built with most of the necessary electronic engineering instruments which will help the students to learn practical work. Then at last, Mr. Maroof Muhammad Hasan talked about the importance of microcontroller in project and thesis. He inspired students to learn microcontrollers to do effective project.

Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE & Special Assistant, OSA, AIUB), Mr.             MD. Nazibur Rahman (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB), Ms. Syeda Sarita Hasan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Mr. Sayed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB),Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Mr. Mehedi Hasan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB), Ms. Sumaiya Umme Hani (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB) and Mr. Md. Rifat Hazari (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB)  graced the seminar with their presence. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan (Head, Undergraduate Program, Department of EEE, AIUB) shared a short speech on the benefits of such seminars and handed over gift vouchers & certificates to the speakers as a symbol of gratitude. Then the effective seminar came to an end with a vote of thanks to the speakers and AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES).
