ACES ORGANIZED A SEMINAR ON “BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING: RECENT TRENDS AND SCOPES IN RESEARCH AND HIGHER STUDIES”

AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a seminar titled "BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING: RECENT TRENDS AND SCOPES IN RESEARCH AND HIGHER STUDIES” on 30th November, 2016 at Room No. 266, FE Building, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The seminar was conducted by Mr. Saiful Islam Khan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB). The main emphasis of the seminar was on biomedical engineering, sharing insights and its futuristic prospects.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) commenced the event by giving the welcome speech. He gave a brief idea about biomedical Engineering and its appliance and coherence with medical studies. Then the floor was given to the speaker Mr. Saiful Islam Khan. He started the session by discussing the main focuses of biomedical engineering and its extension in a broader perspective. After that, he shared his own experience of his research, based on biomedical engineering thus giving more ideas about its implementation. In conclusive remarks, he inspired the students of COE department to consider Biomedical Engineering as their major and the students of EEE department to consider Biomedical Engineering as their elective. He also gave guidelines how to start preparing for it.

Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director & Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the closing speech and spoke about the opportunities of biomedical engineering in AIUB. He also pointed out that Biomedical Engineering will offer more immense opportunities in the near future. Thus he encourages the young community of future engineers to think out of the box and join in the vast world of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Ms. Rafia Akhter (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Syed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES) and Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES) graced the seminar with their presence. Finally, the seminar ended with the big round of applause from the students to the speaker and students left the seminar with a new ray of hope in the field of Biomedical Engineering.
