ACES Organized a Seminar on

 “Electrical Services For Buildings and Industries-Design”

On 18^th November, 2015 AIUB Community of Engineering Students-ACES organized a seminar on “Electrical Services for Buildings and Industries-Design” at Room No.266, Building-2, Faculty of Engineering, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The guest speaker of the seminar was Md. Shah Alam Talukder. PEng. (Life Fellow, IEB; Associate Member IEEE,U.K; Life Member, Bangladesh Solar Energy Society; Resource Person ESCB, IEB, Bangladesh; Part Time Faculty, Brac University; Electrical Consultant). The objective of the seminar was to make the students recognize the different techniques and very basics of electrical wirings in buildings and industries.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) gave the inauguration speech and in his speech he talked about the importance of electrical services for buildings and industries design. Then, the guest speaker started his presentation with the basic information that an Electrical Engineer needs to know before designing the wiring of a building or an industry. The wiring system started with small building design. The speaker showed all the steps of electrical wiring part by part from the very bottom to the top most level of the building in his projected slides. It contained detailed and animated version of the buildings which helped the participants to grab the techniques with an ease. The animation part assisted to relate the theoretical calculations with that of the actual scenario of designing. He mentioned the probable cost, materials, power consumption, hazards and risks, precautions and all other inevitable stuffs regarding electrical services for buildings. Then he came up with the electrical wiring designs of Multistoried buildings and then with industries sequentially. At the very end the speaker suggested the students to acquire a clear knowledge and proper understanding of Electrical Engineering to do all these electrical designing with very ease and accuracy. Then he acclaimed AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) for this initiative and encouraged to do more of this.

Dr. Md. Abu Abdullah (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB), Dr. Md. Kharshiduzzaman (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB), Mr. M. S. Muhit (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE, AIUB), Mr. Sayed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB, & Motivator, ACES) and Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB, & Motivator, ACES) graced the seminar with their presence. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman (Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) shared a short speech on the benefits of such seminars and handed over gift vouchers & certificates to the speaker as a symbol of gratitude. Then the effective seminar came to an end with a vote of thanks to the speaker and AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES).
