AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES), one of the core clubs of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), celebrates its third Foundation Day on 6^th April, 2017 which was held in the auditorium of AIUB. It is a day when all the engineering students gathered together to celebrate and to showcase their talent, creativity as well as learn and have fun together. The Foundation Day Program begins with the inauguration speech by the Dean of Faculty Engineering, AIUB, Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain who congratulated the entire ACES team for all their achievements and expressed gratitude for the inevitable efforts, hard works and dedications which have made enormous contribution in the betterment of the students of Faculty of Engineering. Then there was a cake cutting ceremony where all the faculties came up on the stage.

After the cake cutting session the much awaited and exciting thing came which was the Inauguration of ACES Magazine. This is the very first time ACES has published a magazine named “The Prelusion’’. After that the event went on with a promo video showcasing all the activities and achievements of ACES throughout the previous years. Then some songs were performed by the members, executives and volunteers of ACES. Then ACES research Group came up on the stage and ACES research group instructor Mr. Kazi Ahmed Asif Fuad (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) said a few words about his research journey with the group and showed some of their recent works. After that in the Alumni Session, an Alumni of AIUB, Engr. Aftabur Rahman (Marketing Engineer, ADEX Engineering Ltd.) shared his experiences of his university life and job life and ended his speech with a beautiful poem relating it to the motto of the AIUB: Where Leaders Are Created. There was also a Project Exhibition where three groups showed their projects in front of the audiences and got a huge response from them. Also, the AIUB Robotic Crew-2017 shared their thoughts on the most anticipated upcoming adventure to University Rover Challenge 2017 (URC). In the cultural program part, audiences witnessed and enjoyed some phenomenal unplugged music, comic drama and dance performances from the members and working committee members of ACES. Another important tradition of the Foundation Day was the declaration of the New Committee of ACES which was declared by the Mentor of ACES, Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Senior Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Special Assistant, OSA, AIUB) and Motivators of ACES, Mr. Sayed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB). Their roles will require them to be leaders for the prefect body, their cohort and to serve as role models for younger students. At the very end, the Director of Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman wished ACES tremendous growth and eminent goodwill as a student organization in the near future. Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan (Head,Undergraduate Program, Dept. of EEE & COE, AIUB), Mr. Nafiz Ahmed Chisty (Senior Assistant Professor &Special Assistant, Department of EEE & CoE), Mr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain (Senior Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Special Assistant, OSA, AIUB), Mr. Kawshik Shikder (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Nasim Al Islam (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Mr. Md. Arif Abdulla Samy (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) graced the event with their presence. With the profound support of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) the program was executed brilliantly. The long eventful day was concluded by announcing the names of the raffle draw winners. And this is how an amazing event came to an end with a huge round of applause from the participants.
