IN-HOUSE TRAINING ON CAPACITY BUILDING

A training on capacity building for the ICU Research Assistants was organized by the Research Team with the end in view to equipped them with the essential knowledge and skills to make them effective in their assigned tasks. The research assistants were recruited to provide support to the research team in the conduct of researches related to investment climate commissioned by the IFC-World Bank Group. The AIUB-IFC Investment Climate Fund Project has 3 major components: the development of investment climate minor course in the undergraduate programs of economics/business; establish an Investment Climate Unit to undertake research; and the Internship Program with 4 of AIUB’s business graduating students will participate. The three-day training, 30 August 2009 to 1 September 2009, was held at the ICU Conference Room. The Honorable Vice Chancellor as the Chief Guest inaugurated the training with Mr. Shibab Ansari Azhar, representing the IFC group as guest. Both of them expressed good wishes to the participants and the application of whatever learning knowledge they will acquire from the training. Drs. Anwar Hossian and Charles C. Villanueva, members of the Faculty Team, delivered brief messages to the participants. The lecturer-discussants were Dr. Aminul Islam Akanda, Dr. Mizanul Haque Kazal, Dr. Kazi Tanvir Mahmud and Dr. Tazul Islam, Faculty Team Member.. The hands-on  training on statistical software was handled by Mr. Shahnawaz Mohammad Rafi. Certificate of Participation will be distributed to the participants on the last day of the training.
