A Supply Chain Management Case Study Presented by AIUB Alumni

A Supply Chain Management Case Study was presented by Mr. Nurul Huda, an alumni of MBA Program, Department of Operations Management, Faculty of Business Administration, AIUB. He presented his case study on Integration of Supply Chain Departments of JMI Group. The presentation was conducted on 6th December, 2013, 7:00 – 9:00PM, in front of the students of “Managing Operations and Quality”, both sections C and D, respectively, whereas Mr. Ashfaque A. Mohib is the course instructor. The seminar’s objective was to enrich student’s knowledge on supply chain management topics, portraying a real-life initiatives taken to integrate the supply chain departments of twelve organizations under JMI Group. Mr. Huda kept mentioning that the knowledge and concepts he has learned from Supply Chain Management course, along with other courses from the Department Operations Management, under the AIUB MBA program, has encouraged him to develop a SCM Charter for JMI Group Supply Chain Department. This charter is designed to consolidate and restructure all of twelve supply chain departments of JMI Group under one centralized governing of Group SC Department. He is now heading centralized SC Group Department, where the JMI is already experiencing huge savings through economy of scale, especially on procurements and distributions. His presentations on these innovative and pioneering initiatives were really taken in by the participating students as a great source of motivations. Mr. Huda encouraged the students to apply for various open positions in JMI Group, mentioning that they have recently recruited a couple of dynamic AIUB MBA graduates, into the JMI Group SC Department. At the end of the session, Mr. Ashfaque A. Mohib presented Mr. Nurul Huda with a certificate of appreciation and a gift pack, which were endorsed by Mr. Zobair Shibli, Head of Department of Operations Management, and Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Dean of Faculty of Business Administration, AIUB.
