A Study Tour by HTM students to Panam City in Sonargaon

The day right after the last final exam has become another memorable day for HTM students. We left campus at 8:30 am on Friday 25th December and hit the road towards the historic Sonargaon. Our target was Panam city – the part of Sonargaon normally left behind by visitors, but definitely worth a visit. It is an old street lined on both sides with one and more centuries old heritage buildings of mixed European and local architecture. Every building has its own story and character. The best way to experience this is to stroll around and feel the air of the centuries. The pinnacle of our walking tour was an old zamindari villa with several heritage buildings surrounded by two ponds and gardens. We took lots of pictures, learnt about the access roads and paths, facilities, surroundings and the history of the town. It was a very pleasant and educational day trip. We look forward to our next study tour.
