A Seminar on "Create Awareness Regarding Cervical Cancer"

A Seminar was organized by GSK with the support of AIUB Shomoy Club, a social welfare club in order to create awareness regarding Cervical Cancer— currently considered to be the second biggest killer of women around the world. According to a recent study around 18 women die everyday in Bangladesh alone and about 1.1 million women die globally every year due to this cancer. But unfortunately, the awareness level about this cancer is at its lowest in our country. In order to raise awareness about the disease and especially promote prevention of this cancer GSK globally has launched a campaign called Help X out Cervical Cancer with the help of the vaccine” Cervarix”. This Help X out Cervical Cancer campaign was launched by GSK Bangladesh both in English and Bangla. As a continuation to their effort to create awareness and to combat Cervical Cancer at all levels of society GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Limited a healthcare company organized this seminar at the AIUB Auditorium on 29th July, Wednesday at 11:00 am. The seminar was conducted by GSK officials and a renowned gynecologist Dr. Samina Chowdhury. It was a very detailed and informative seminar where a lot of questions were answered and lot of misconceptions were addressed by Dr. Samina.
