On August 8, 2016, a seminar titled “Entrepreneurship Development for Engineers” was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, American International University - Bangladesh to give the postgraduate (MEEE & MTEL) students an opportunity to link between their course Finance and Investment and corporate world. The seminar was arranged by Mr. Rethwan Faiz, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Dr. Md. Abu Abdullah, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The main objective of the seminar was to share with MEEE & MTEL students the impact of the course Finance and Investment has on the daily basis. The key Speaker was Mr Atiqur Rahman Sarkar, Managing Director, Muspana. Mr. Sarkar being an engineer shared his inspiring career experience in the business sector motivated students to set their mind on a specific goal, to work hard to achieve that goal no matter what the obstacles might be and ensured in the end that anyone can dream of success and observe it happening if they give their best to achieve it. He mentioned a lot of thieving companies at present are still dealing their financial transactions in cash rather than electronic banking or even bank cheques. Students now can bring about a change in such sectors and as well as establish their own business when the understanding of finance and investment is clear to them. He also shared the practical experiences towards the students about the importance of coming up with ideas, implementing those ideas which will directly create a positive impact on the society and to work for the betterment of our nation.
The seminar was coordinated by Mr. Rinku Basak, Assistant Professor & Head, MTEL and MEEE. He motivated the students with his concluding speech regarding the usefulness of finance and investment in the real world. He presented the letter of appreciation to Mr, Sarkar. The seminar was graced by the presence of Mr. Farhadur Arifin, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.
