A SEMINAR ON THE PROCESS OF PREPARING ADVERTISEMENTS

The Department of Marketing, American International University-Bangladesh organized a seminar on the “The Process of Preparing Advertisements” on the 28th of July, 2016 at the AIUB Auditorium. The key speaker for the seminar was Mr. Salahuddin Shahed, Vice President, Strategic Planning & Client Servicing, Grey Advertising Bangladesh Limited. He was also accompanied by Mr. Bitop Das Gupta, Associate Planning Director, and Mr. Adnan Adib Khan, Senior Copywriter of the same organization. The students from the Marketing major courses were present in the seminar.

The main objective of the seminar was to give a clear idea about the technical parts of preparing advertisements including from receiving the client brief  to final production of the creative thoughts. The guest speakers explained their respective practical functions from the perspective of a recent television commercial and print advertisement made by their team. They have also incorporated the importance of consumer insight research, understanding the product’s attributes, creative side of the message and the feedback survey of the advertisements in their discussion. It was a very interactive session with the lively participation of both the students and the faculty members.

Ms. Madhobi Hossain, Lecturer, Mr. Hamidul Islam, and Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Assistant Professors, Department of Marketing took the initiatives to organize and coordinate the seminar as a part of the students’ development program.

At the end of the seminar Dr. Anisur Rahman Faroque, Head, Department of Marketing expressed his vote of thanks to the guest speakers for their valuable lectures. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Director, MBA program closed the event with some positive and inspiring words and then they presented the key speaker with certificates of appreciation and a gift pack as a token of gratitude.
