A Seminar on “Telemedicine Networks” organized by IEEE AIUB Student Branch


IEEE AIUB Student Branch recently arranged a technical seminar on Telemedicine Networks. The seminar took place on the 30th of January,2014 at room 266. The title of the seminar was “Devising Distributed Telemedicine Network Disrupting Healthcare”. The seminar was targeted towards students who have interests in pursuing a career in Biomedical Instruments. The guest speaker was Mr. Jobayer Ahmed, Founder & Chief Marketing Officer of NEXTSTEP INTERACTIVE, an ITES company. Mr. Shuvra Saha, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering also gave his speech on the topic. The seminar mainly covered the basics of improving Medicaid through telemedicine network. Through telemedicine real time interactive communication between the patient & doctor can be possible even if they are far from each other. This electronic communication means the use of interactive telecommunications equipment that includes audio & video equipment at least. Nextstep Interactive, an ITES company in Bangladesh, has designed and implemented a telemedicine healthcare cart named “SEBIKA”. Speaker presented a video of this cart to give a clear concept of its mechanism. This seminar demonstrated the design and implementation procedures of this telemedicine cart.The seminar ended with an interactive Q/A session.

S. Muhit, Asst. Professor, Faculty of Engineering,Mr. ShantanuNath, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Rashedul Hoque, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering and Mr. Rethwan Faiz, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering. At the end of the program Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman handed over a gift hamper to the guest speaker Mr. Jobayer Ahmed as small token of appreciation.
