Abstract

Language is constantly evolving, shaped by a variety of social, cultural, and technological factors. Among these, the media has become a major driver of language change, influencing how new vocabulary, expressions, and grammatical structures spread across different populations. With the rise of various media platforms, from traditional television and radio to digital outlets like social media, language change has become more rapid and widespread. This study examines the significant role of media in influencing language change, focusing on how these platforms accelerate and shape the evolution of language. A quantitative research approach was used, where 45 people participated in a survey questionnaire to gather insights on how media affects their language use. The results suggest that the media has a substantial impact on language change, contributing both to the preservation and transformation of language in the context of globalization and technological advancements. This research highlights the interactive relationship between media and language, showing that media not only reflect societal changes but also actively influence linguistic development.
