Abstract

The goal of this study is intended to assess the techno-economic viability of hybrid storage systems combined with off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in rural electrification systems in Bangladesh. Standalone solar systems are a sustainable option to millions of people who have no access to reliable electricity. Nonetheless, effective energy storage is essential to make power available at times when sunlight is not available. In this paper, a range of battery technologies (e.g., lithium-ion, lead-acid will be modeled with the help of such tools as HOMER Pro, taking into account the local solar irradiance, household demand profiles, and cost data. It will study the performance of systems, levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), and payback period and offer recommendations on scalable and cost-effective rural energy solutions.
