Abstract
The women’s networks, based in the community, are increasingly emerging as catalysts for the promotion of environmental sustainability, especially in the more vulnerable regions of Bangladesh. This paper aims to explore the contribution of women’s learning networks to the promotion of biodiversity conservation, while ensuring the sustainability of livelihoods. By using descriptive statistical methods, the paper examines the secondary data available to identify patterns of involvement in community initiatives, training programs, and biodiversity conservation. From the findings, it is clear that women’s involvement in learning networks enhances their understanding of biodiversity, promotes sustainable resource management, and enhances the availability of income-generating activities. Additionally, learning networks help in promoting social cohesion, as well as enhancing adaptability in responding to environmental and economic changes. From the findings of the paper, it is clear that women’s networks are vital for ensuring the integration of biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods, as they are effective catalysts for women’s empowerment. These findings are useful for promoting sustainable development in Bangladesh, as they provide guidelines for promoting women’s involvement in sustainable development initiatives.
