The 52nd Syndicate Meeting of AIUB was held virtually in the Microsoft Teams online platform on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 12 noon. The Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z Lamagna presided over the virtual meeting in presence of other members of the Syndicate, Prof. Dr. Md. Rafique Ullah, Prof. Dr. Md. Selim, Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Mr. Manzur H. Khan and Mr. Pius Costa. Mr. Ziarat H Khan was also present during the meeting on special invitation.

In the one-hour long meeting, Syndicate members were briefly informed about the academic and research activities in the form of international conferences, webinars/ seminars, workshop, publications, trainings and other activities as conducted by different faculties in the Spring 2020-21 semester. A summary of IQAC’s (Institutional Quality Assurance Cell) development activities, and extra-curricular activities and achievements of AIUB students were also presented. Later, Syndicate members discussed possible plans of upcoming Summer 2020-21 semester along with the tentative academic calendar. Anticipating the ongoing crisis of pandemic, Dr. Carmen informed the Syndicate members about a plan of holding the next convocation ceremony virtually. All the syndicate members appreciated the collaborative efforts of the university students, teachers, staffs, officials and management for successfully running university operations with the maximum efficiency amidst such a time of uncertainty that the whole world is going through. There was a lively discussion on the proposed activities and plans in the Syndicate meeting before the members approved all relevant proposals.
