3D Animation Program Kicks Off

November 8, 2012 Dhaka City. The partners, AIUB and Truemax Academy from Copenhagen, Denmark involved in the first animation education program in Bangladesh held a meeting at the Royal Embassy of Denmark regarding the status and the roadmap of the said program. "We have decided to continue and move forward our partnership with AIUB. We're really impressed on how proactive and dedicated they are in handling new programs such as these." says Maytham Fahmi co-owner of Truemax.

The Vice Chancellor Dr. Lamagna stated "Our commitment is to provide students with education that can land relevant jobs, and that involves a lot of work in introducing new technologies and industries in the education system to support the increasing global demand for digital arts.

" The meeting was followed by a short tour of the facility in which the first batch of animators were taking classes led by digital artist Steve Townsend (UK) who will be in AIUB as the facilitator/expert. "We invest heavily on instructor training and equipment simply because it does make a huge difference on the learning of the students." says project coordinator Ed Alcanzare. The 3D animation lab boasts of state of the art equipment such as the Wacom Intuos 5 Touch supported by high specification computers from Dell.

"These equipment are not only industry standard but it also exceeds it. These kids will have a huge advantage on their learning. This kind of job requires a lot of artistic skills and in most cases the technical aspects get in the way of the learning. With these equipment a lot of those problems are solved because the tools (software and hardware) they are using are designed for artists." Steve Townsend's statement regarding the said facility.

The program will be integrated in the academic program in the future.
