The said conference was attended by more than 200 participants coming from across Asia and the Pacific countries. Ms. Concepcion Pijano, the Executive Director of PAASCU which is accrediting our MBA/EMBA program, is the President of APQN and the presiding officer of the conference. During the 3-day conference, a number speakers were invited to discuss the significance and importance of quality assurance through accreditation or audit of the academic programs and institutions. Experiences of other countries were presented and elicited interesting comments and suggestions from the participants. The case of Bangladesh which was the focus of the paper of Dr. Charles invited attention because even in the absence of a concrete legal framework to create an accreditation council, the American International University-Bangladesh took the initiative and embarked on the complex process of having its MBA/EMBA program accredited by PAASCU.
After the successful 3-day conference, it was announced that the next conference will be held in Bangalore, India with the date and theme to be finalized.
