On Thursday, October 9th, 2025, the Department of EEE, Faculty of Engineering (FE), AIUB, in collaboration with the IEEE AIUB Student Branch, successfully organized a Field Trip at Spectra Solar Park Limited, Patuira, Shbibaloy, Manikgonj. The study tour aimed to enhance practical understanding and knowledge exchange in the field of renewable energy and sustainable power generation and focused on the application of engineering principles in solar energy conversion, system integration, and control mechanisms that ensure efficient operation and reliability of large-scale photovoltaic systems.

The program began with an inauguration session conducted by Mr. Mohammad Monirozzaman, Plant Manager, Spectra Solar Park Limited.  During this session the participants were introduced to the operation and functions of renewable energy using photovoltaic panels, power plant, substation systems and its role in sustainable power generation and CO₂ emission reduction, which set the stage for an enriching day ahead. The session enhanced the learning with an interactive Q&A. Participants enthusiastically engaged in discussions covering solar power generation capacity, future expansion of SSPL, project implementation. After that field trip was conducted where panel connections, maintenance schemes, Power Transformers, switch gears and Grid tied Inverters were visited and explained. At the end of the visit a token of appreciation was given to Mr. Monirozzaman and officials from Spectra to honor their valuable contributions towards the AIUB student community.

The event started at 9:00 AM and concluded at 5:30 PM (GMT +6).  A total of 25 selected participants, mostly IEEE Student members, attended the study tour, along with honorable faculty members Dr. Gour Chand Mazumder, Assistant Professor, FE, AIUB and Dr. Effat Jahan, Assistant Professor, FE, AIUB.
