AIUB Social Welfare Club–Shomoy, under the facilitation of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), organized its flagship event entitled “The IDEAS Challenge–2025” on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at AIUB campus with the theme “Ideas that Change Lives & Shape the Future”.
Around 500 students from 50 renowned Academic Institutions from across the country participated, presenting creative projects and posters on six specific themes aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG): Youth Employment & Gender Inequality, Healthcare, Poverty Alleviation, ICT & Innovation, Climate Change, and Food & Waste Management. The competition aims to foster creative thinking, innovation, enhance understanding of social development, and create opportunities for collaborative learning among the young students.
The event was inaugurated and graced by Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, Founder Member, Board of Trustees, AIUB. Among others Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor & Dean-in-Charge, FBA, AIUB; Gp. Capt. (Retd) Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar; Dr. Prof. Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor; Club Mentors, Faculty Members, University Officials, College Teachers, Partners Company Representatives, Club Members, and the students were also present during the day-long creative competitive event.
At the end of the day-long event, the winners were selected by a distinguished panel of judges and were awarded prizes and certificates, followed by a lively cultural program. The details of the winners are furnished below:

The event was planned and coordinated by the Club Mentors, Mr. Hamidul Islam Hamid, Associate Professor, Dept. of Marketing, FBA, & Special Assistant, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB, and Mr. Monir Hossain, Lecturer, Dept. of Social Sciences, FASS, AIUB, in collaboration with the OSA Officials, Club Executive Committee, and AIUB Administration.
