As part of the MoU between American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and GLA University, India a webinar titled "Fluorescence spectroscopic investigation of nanomaterials for energy harvesting and catalytic applications" was held on May 2, 2024 (Thursday) at 2.30 PM. The esteemed speaker of the webinar was Dr. Ejaj Tarif (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, GLA University, Mathura). This webinar started at 2.30 PM and ended at 4 PM. A total of over 50 participants attended the webinar. The session was interactive due to the presence of educators and many learners from different disciplines.
The webinar was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain (Professor, Dean, FE, AIUB). The welcome speech was delivered by Professor Deepak Kumar Das (Head, Department of Chemistry, GLA University, Mathura, India). The speaker, Dr. Ejaj Tarif, started his speech by introducing Fluorescence spectroscopy and explaining how it is a powerful tool used to investigate the properties of nanomaterials for various applications, including energy harvesting and catalysis. The speaker spoke about recent applications namely metal nanoclusters, 2D nanomaterials, plasmonic nanomaterials and quantum Dots. Dr. Ejaj Tarif also showed current research and some possible outcomes which are going on in GLA University based on Fluorescence spectroscopic investigation of nanomaterials for energy harvesting and catalytic applications. Later, during an interactive question and answer session, Dr. Ejaj Tarif discussed some future aspects of ongoing research and showed interest in collaborative work with interested attendees in the webinar. At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi (Associate Dean, Faculty of Science & Technology, AIUB) delivered his concluding remark, emphasizing the versatile applications of nanomaterials. The honorable speaker was presented with a virtual token of appreciation from AIUB for sharing his valuable time and insightful speech. The webinar concluded with a group photo of all the participants of the webinar.
