The Second Virtual International Conference on Women's Rights in Emerging Societies, organized by Jus Corpus Law Journal and Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur in collaboration with American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and SHRI RAMSWAROOP MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY, Lucknow, convened on Saturday, February 17, 2024, showcasing a robust exchange of ideas and perspectives on the advancement of women's rights globally. Dr. Syeda Afroza Zerin and Mrs. Tasnuva Anika from the AIUB organizing team have worked to make this collaboration possible since last December.
The Conference witnessed a significant turnout, with 106 papers presented by 129 Presenters across 8 technical sessions. Among them, eight participants were from AIUB. There were eight technical sessions and one inaugural ceremony. The Advisor of the Department of Law, Prof. Dr. Taslima Monsoor has adorned the inaugural ceremony as a keynote speaker. Dr. Syeda Afroza Zerin, the Head of the Department of Law, has chaired technical session No. 5. Three other faculty members, namely Dr. Abu Taher, Ahasan Habib, and Tasnuva Anika have co-chaired technical sessions 7,1 and 6 respectively.
Scholars, researchers, and activists from various disciplines and geographical locations participated, contributing to a diverse and enriching dialogue. Sessions delved into a wide array of topics, including legal frameworks for gender equality, challenges women face in emerging societies, intersectionality, and the role of education and policy in promoting women's rights.
