
A seminar on “Graduate Admissions in the U.S. and U.S. Student Visa Requirements” was held on Sunday, September 09, 2007 at the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) campus. A five member team from the U.S. Embassy of Dhaka briefly spoke to the undergraduate and post graduate students of AIUB on the U.S. admission procedure and requirements. They also gave information to the students regarding U.S. Students Visa specifics. The representatives from U.S. Embassy of Dhaka included Mr. Bob Dreesen, Deputy Chief Counselor Section, Amy Vrampus, Public Affairs Officer, Linda Quamar, Student Advising Outreach Coordinator, Pam Kazi and Mr. Charlie Jarrett from the Counselor Section. The honorable Chairman of AIUB, Dr. Anwarul Abedin, Vice President of International Affairs Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, Vice President of Student Affairs Mrs. Nadia Anwar, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences, Director of Public Relations Md. Lutfar Rahman, Director Administration Lt. Col. Mohammad Gholam Maula (Retd) and other senior officials of AIUB were present during the seminar. The seminar was followed by a question and answer session where students clarified many of their doubts about the admission and visa procedure.
