Seminar on “Developing Entrepreneurship in Bangladesh”

The Department of Management & HRM, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University-Bangladesh hosted a seminar titled “Developing Entrepreneurship in Bangladesh” on February 7, 2024. The intended audience consisted of students enrolled in the entrepreneurship development course and the participants of the Business Plan Exhibition.  The primary objective of the event was to foster entrepreneurial spirit among the young generation in Bangladesh. The initiative will help achieve SDG goal 8 which is to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. The session occurred at the Auditorium starting at 11:00 a.m. and lasted for one hour. The session commenced with a welcoming speech by Dr. Md. Aftab Anwar. The Guest Speaker Mrs. Tazima Hossain Majumdar, Vice President, Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh, gave lecture on the topic. The subject matter was engaging and informative, focusing on the personal journey of a thriving entrepreneur in Bangladesh. The resource person has offered her expertise and inspired the students to pursue entrepreneurship. She also discussed how she started the business and how entrepreneurs contribute to the country's prosperity. The talk concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer session. The students enthusiastically participated in the seminar, while the resource persons conveyed their genuine appreciation to the Department of Management & HRM for the invitation and hospitality.


Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of the BBA Program, concluded the seminar by expressing her gratitude and handed over a certificate of appreciation and souvenirs to the esteemed guest. Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Department Head of Accounting, along with faculty members were present during the seminar. At the end of the program certificates and crests were distributed among the winners of the business plan exhibition. Mrs. Samia Shabnaz, a faculty member in the Department of Management & HRM, organized the event.
