Pan Pacific University, Philippines Visits AIUB

The progressive amalgamation of diversity in culture, practices, and ideas that can lead us to long-term sustainable socioeconomic development can be found in this diversity. International collaboration in higher education unlocks a world of knowledge, fosters innovation, and prepares students to thrive in our interconnected world. Acknowledging that cooperation has a profound impact, the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB) has persisted in building and growing its global network of alliances. In a move towards promoting global collaboration in higher education and furthering their academic collaboration, AIUB greeted representatives from one of their partner institutions, the Pan Pacific University (PPU), Philippines.

 

The delegation consisted of Dr. Rhonda T. Padilla, the President of PPU, and Dr. Engelbert Pasag, the Director for Internationalization and Partnerships, who visited Bangladesh from the 16th – 19th of March 2024. On Saturday, 16 March 2024, touring the campus premises, they witness the infrastructure, facilities, and services provided for the students, followed by a meeting with the academic representatives of the university. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the member of the Board of Trustees, initiated the meeting, leading to insightful discussions with Dr. Abdur Rahman, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Manzur H. Khan, the Proctor, Dr. Farheen Hassan, the Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, the Associate Dean for the Faculty of Engineering (FE), Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, the Program Director of FE, Mashiour Rahman, Dean-In-Charge for the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Dr. Dip Nandi, the Associate Dean of FST, Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, the Director of Graduate Programs for the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), Dr. Rezbin Nahar, the Director of Undergraduate Programs for FBA, Md. Hamidul Haque, the Head for the Department of English in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), and Dr. Faria Sultana, Head for the Department of Economics in FASS.

 

Both institutions shared an overview of PPU and AIUB with a short documentary and presentation, was screened as part of the welcoming ceremony They explored the scopes of implementing in the mutually agreed upon areas of cooperation ranging from curriculum development to joint programs for students and staff. After a short city tour, the delegation had a conclusive meeting to finalize the details for the upcoming activities in the summer semester before departing, with both PPU and AIUB anticipating a future that strengthens the alliance even more between institutions across borders.
